WordPress WednesdaysWe’ve had WordPress 2.5 for a few weeks now, but I haven’t heard much about it around the blogosphere. Are users loving it? Hating it? Confused? Excited?

The upgrade to WordPress 2.5 was easy and took jut a few minutes. However, the new interface does take some getting used to. I had to take the time to sit down and poke around to see where my most frequently used settings and areas are - and if you haven’t yet, you should definitely do that.

The new administration theme is great - the color and design is fresh, clean and very easy to use. Writing posts is a lot easier now, especially since I can now add YouTube videos to my posts quickly and more efficiently than ever before.

In the HTML mode, paste the YouTube link into the post. In the Visual mode, paste the YouTube URL into the popup activated when you click on the “Insert Video” button on the top toolbar.

Some of our favorite features of the “Write” screen are now gone - such as the “Edit Timestamp box”. In it’s place is the option to “Edit” when the post is published - look in the Publish Status area to the right of the post box and click on the Edit button to the right of “Publish immediately.” When editing a Post, there is a similar edit button in the Publish Status area next to the Published on date and time. Writing Posts in Advance with WordPress will explain for the newbies why editing your timestamp is important.

Any other new features of 2.5 that you absolutely love? Hate?

Let’s hear it in the comments!
