Popular web-based instant messaging service Meebo, which I’ve talked about here on thepinkc, now supports file transfer!
The announcement can be read on Meebo’s blog, which also has other interesting tidbits about the development of this highly popular web-based instant messaging service.
“You don’t need to download software or install software to IM your buddies,” said Martin Green of Meebo. “On Meebo you can get all your buddies from all the major IM networks all in one place. The neat thing about having it on a Web site is, if you’re traveling, going from home to work, if you’re on vacation, you can log on to any PC, get all your IM buddies and IM away.”

As of today, you can share files with your contacts over Meebo IM on the web—whether your contacts are using Meebo or not.
You’ll need to have registered with Meebo (FREE) in order to send files from their web interface, but anyone can receive files.
