Everyone is crazy about iPods and iPhones. Even I jumped on the bandwagon and got an iPod. The media continues to report people being robbed, beaten or worse for their Apple products, so I am very cautious when using my iPod when I am out and about. Another fear I have is dropping my iPod and damaging it permanently.

There are some really easy and not-so-expensive ways to protect your iPod or iPhone.

One is to replace your iPod accessories with non-Apple branded headphones, such as Griffin EarThumps. Thieves won’t know what kind of music player you have, so they will be less likely to target you. The EarThumps help maximize the playing power of the iPod, so I know I’m getting my money’s worth every time I turn on my iPod!

TopskinAnother good option is to get a protective cover for your iPhone or iPod. I got a polyurethane cover for my iPod, to protect it from drops onto sidewalks or even the grass! The PDO TopSkin for 3rd Generation iPod Nano is a good example of what I’m talking about.

It covers my clickwheel, so I don’t have to worry about banging up the buttons or breaking them when I bump into stuff.

The PDO TopSkin comes with a screen cover, too, so I won’t get any scratches on my beautiful color screen!

Having color options like black, silver, blue and pink make sure that my iPod will match any outfit and help me stay coordinated!

Do you have any tips or tricks for keeping your “i” safe? Let’s hear it in the comments!
