My new office has the oldest and slowest computer I’ve ever seen. So, I will walk across the street to Starbucks and hop on my laptop during lunch, just so I can catch up with my emails or Google Reader feeds.
This is only free wireless for 2 consecutive hours per day with a purchase made at least every 30 days with a Starbucks Card.
One of my biggest complaints about Starbucks is the expensive coffee, but to get free wireless for two hours while I savor a Caramel Frappachino might just be worth it!
There’s an extensive FAQ about the new wireless program - check it out. Seems like a good deal. Buy coffee once a month, and get 2 hours of free wireless per day!

I use Starbucks WiFi daily but I’m not doing it on the up and up… Did you know you can change your browser’s user agent to:
Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/1A543a Safari/419.3
This will get you free wifi in starbucks like you own an iPhone!

Starbucks is a LONG way from here.
I just signed up for Odiogo. I have to wait for the feed resync though, after removing the feed entry header. Like someone’s going to listen to my domain name spelled out letter by letter!

This is fantastic! I actually stopped going to Starbucks over this very issue. I always thought, why not give a paying customer some wi-fi love? Like temporary access with a network key that is time sensitive?
Well, now that a system is in place, I am going to have to go back and get my iced lattes there this summer (it is freakin hot here in Texas, at around 100 during the day; nothing like an iced coffee on those days…).

I was at Mc Donald’s at saw that they now are offering free wi-fi but it to is for a limited time. I am here in Va but I am sure that it maybe national.

I think that some McDonald’s here have free wireless, but I have an adversion to mixing work with my chicken nuggets!

i’m not a big starbucks fan but this is similar to caribou coffee’s deal. caribou offers 2 hours of wireless as long as you make a purchase over like 2 bucks or something. but you have to keep buying if you need longer access. many of the fast food restaurants here offer “free” wifi and even the laundromats. something about greasy restaurant and laptop that doesn’t go together. caribou also has something that blocks you from accessing our campus wireless system while you’re in their store (i’m on an urban campus and have an extremely strong wireless signal from campus building but can’t connect to it). however i can just go to bruegger’s bagels and mooch all i want.
