Luckily that didn't affect the harddisk so I had plently of time to continue working with it before changing it. Maybe I shouldn't have used my laptop next to a contruction place :-) Dirtcheap :-)

I like the DELL as it has never let me down, and they replaced my monitor for free at one point, and it's real quiet when it's running which is a good attribute. If it were any more upgradable, I would still be using it as my main PC, but I've taken it to the max.... without changing the motherboard. My first laptop was an HP, then I got a Dell (dude, I got a Dell! :lol: ) As far as desktops, my first one was a no-name brand that a friend of mine gave me - trusty little computer, too! Then I got a Compaq, which I've passed on to my mom. I don't know if brand names mean much, but I don't think I'll buy a Dell again. The customer service wasn't that great, and for the price, I could have gotten better features elsewhere. This is my first Toshiba. (It was pretty old...) It had some great features and I would recommend Toshiba to anyone.
