26 May, 2008 (05:22) | Geek Girl | By: Ellie

Geek GirlWe have all sent print jobs to the printer to only realize - “I shouldn’t have sent that!” But when you right-click on the job and press delete, the job says “Deleting” but never goes away!

The only way I knew of to fix this was to restart my computer. But, that’s a huge pain when I have four or five programs open and working online, too!

Text Replacement Software Saves Time

Geek GirlI am always looking for ways to save time - because time IS money! Fortunately, there are lots of ways to save time when replying to emails, filling out forms online and more - text replacement software!

The premise of text replacement software is to provide a way to type in a few characters and have them replaced by sentences, code, paragraphs - whatever text you specify. No longer do you have to write out things like, “Best wishes, Sam” on your emails or standard replies to messages you receive. Just type in the characters and let the software do the work.

Common WordPress Terms You Need to Know

WordPress WednesdaysWhen I began using WordPress, I had no idea what I was getting myself into - I just knew that this was “the best” blogging software on the market and it was FREE! Over time, I’ve picked up some of the WordPress lingo, which is important when tweaking your themes, plugins or even the WordPress software itself!

Codex - The WordPress.org Codex is the “Wikipedia” of all things WordPress. Volunteers maintain the articles and answer questions, so this is the first place I go to when looking for an answer to why a plugin isn’t working like I want or how to modify my themes.
