Place an RSS feed link at the bottom of every post.
Check! I have a RSS feed link at the bottom of every post. I put it there for two reasons – it evens out the footer of each post and gives readers another chance to subscribe to thepinkc’s feed!

Spend 99% of your time focused on creating unique, quality content. Content is King; or as John Reese says, “content is King Kong”.
This is a great tip! I spend about 90% of my blogging time looking for interesting topics to blog about, researching them, writing articles and editing them. Believe it or not, but the Back to School series was a 2 month long adventure! I first plotted my idea, what topics would work with the series, did research on each topic, wrote articles, edited articles, and continued to edit until I was satisfied. I was pleased at the end result, and can’t wait to publish my next special series. Now that I know what to do, I don’t think it will take as much time, but I will definitely continue to publish quality special series.

Give your blog its own unique voice… You!
I believe thepinkc has a very unique voice. I’m not always sure if other people understand my humor or writing style, but I continue to write, in hopes that one day I’ll be greatly appreciated for my personal style!

Get involved in the blogosphere. Being a blogger is about being part of a community. Leave comments on other blogs and get to know your favorite bloggers.
This step is a lot easier said than done. There are literally hundreds of bloggers looking for attention from their favorite bloggers or the bloggers with the most link juice – not tart cherry juice! I like relatively unknown bloggers and have developed a great friendship with the blogger of Linky Love and a couple of other bloggers are really great resources for information and blogging tips.

Use trackbacks.
Trackbacks have been instrumental in helping me find out what bloggers find interesting here. I also use trackbacks to let other bloggers know what I like on their sites. I need to strengthen my use of trackbacks, in order to build more organic linking, so I will definitely keep working on this more in the future.
Step #10 in the 101 Steps to Becoming a Better Blogger is a biggie:
Submit your blog to rss and blog directories.
I am a member of several directories, though I am not 100% convinced of their reliability for generating traffic for my site. It seems as if you are only on top as long as no one else is submitting their site! Because thepinkc currently doesn’t fit a particular niche, it is difficult to categorize my site well on a directory.

Blog and ping.
I definitely follow this step! I am blogging less as of late, and I’m not sure if I’ll pick the pace back up soon or not. I’m not “tired” of blogging but I feel like there’s a definite information overload right now. I’m hardly being able to keep up with the feeds I subscribe to, let alone keep up with all of my writing ideas!

Submit your blog to 9Rules.
I’m skipping this step, as 9Rules is not currently accepting new blogs.
Step #7:
Submit your blog to NewsNow.
Done.
Step #8:
Let your readers see the REAL you. Blogging is more personal than conventional websites. Don’t be afraid to tell a few stories from your own life. By being real and personal, you will build a relationship with your readers based on loyalty and trust.
