Religion is taboo in some circles, but not here at ultimate geek girl! Even girl geeks have to set aside some time to give thanks for their blessings and pray for good things to happen in the world!

As some of you know from following me on Twitter, I have been searching high and low and in between for a new job and a new apartment, as graduation from Bloustein comes near.
I had been praying for a specific job at a specific company. I was applying for jobs that looked interesting and fit my education and skills. However, nothing was happening. No calls back and for the most part, no emails telling me, “Sorry, you suck! We picked someone else.”
I had started to doubt myself and worry. What was I going to do if graduation comes and I don’t have a job? How was I going to afford to live? Would I have to give up living in NYC and move home?
So on Saturday morning, I got this idea in my head to pray for “a” job – no specifics, and just let God take care of that part – and let him work his magic. I submitted my resume to 20 jobs on Saturday before I went to bed, and worked on my resume some more Sunday afternoon.
Monday morning, I woke up and decided to pray for a while before I got up – again, asking God for “a” job – no specifics – and telling Him that I trusted His judgment to find the right place for me to be right now, this minute. I got up, turned on my laptop and lo-and-behold, I had emails about jobs, apartments and internships! I spent most of Monday following up on those leads and thanking God for opening my heart and mind to all of the options out there!
I haven’t gotten an actual job offer, but I am optimistic and hopeful for the future. I just wanted to share with you guys that if you are in fact a believer of God, trust in him, and let him do some of the work for you. Leave your worries to Him and allow him to work for good in your life.
Have a great night. Love y’all!
