It seems like I’ve been writing a lot of iPhone app posts lately. Probably because I have been. But I’ve had plenty of time to test some really neat free ones that I think you all will like. Check ‘em out and let me know what you think!!

Cookie, Cookie, Cookie!!
The weekend before and the week of finals I spent time baking lots of cookies. Despite all the sugary goodness that I baked, I didn’t eat most of the cookies myself – I shared and shared and shared. If you’re like me, you watch what you eat for one reason or another. But baking for me is a good mental break from all my hard tech work and at that time I really needed it (don’t all of us techies need an occasional break from computers or phones or gaming?). I don’t keep pre-packaged cookies in my house so making some is the only way (besides occassional Starbucks) that I’ll have any. But I digress – if you’re interested in some pretty basic recipes (even a complete novice can make these), here ya go. Make sure you have at least one cookie sheet and I recommend also using foil or parchment paper to cover the cookie sheet (it helps keep the cookies moving in and out of the oven).

So you are in need of a new bag (or 2 or 3) for the year? There are so many different options – backpacks, messenger bags, sling bags, etc etc. You may know a style that you like already. Stick with it.

Backpack – Classic back to school item. Backpacks have 2 straps (and should always be used with both straps). Typically the best bag to use if you have a LOT to carry or if you have shoulders that easily get sore with messengers, or if you’re always on the move. Can be professional (don’t get the loud colors though) and laid back at the same time.

How is a technology crazed kid to fly these days!? Take this out, put this on here, move this over here, that should be over here in this bag…..the rules of air travel go on and on and on. I fly semi-frequently and have come up with a TSA and HarriMac friendly way of flying. No more being driven crazy even in Hartsfield-Jackson!! I’ll touch on general tips and some tech tips here.

Ten More Cool and Free iPhone Apps
I’m always finding really neat applications for my iPhone. Adding new applications makes it seem brand new every time! A few weeks ago I wrote about 15 Really Cool and Free iPhone apps and here are 10 more!
1. TweetDeck – Now my new favorite twitter application for the iPhone, Tweetdeck helps me quickly see what tweets mentioned me or my DMs without having to wade through all my tweets. Very useful if you follow quite a few folks.
2. WordPress – This is extremely helpful for posting quickly to blogs. Recently I was at a conference and needed to update to an organization’s blog and bam! it was done!

Small Space Hacks – Make A Small Space Work for Sleep, Work, and Play
Category Soulville
This year I’ve lived in a house but for the most part been confined to my 2 private spaces (both approximately 8×10) for everything after living on my own in nice size apartments for two years. Of the last 11 years, I lived in dorms for 8. Next year, I’m getting a roommate in a smaller space so I’m back to being in one room again. So I’ve had my share of small spaces. But how can you take a small space and make it livable without making it unbearably overcrowded and claustrophobic? Very good question. While I am not as drastic as this guy, I think there are definitely some great solutions.
HarriMac’s Software Pack

Free and low-cost software is seriously awesome. Oftentimes, these programs can not only perform as well as a high cost program but can do the job better. I really like programs that are open-source – users know the things they don’t like and can edit them to fix it how they want. Here’s my list of great free programs:
