Happy New Year from The Pink C!! I know we’re almost a month into the new year, but I wanted to say it anyway. Welcome to all the new readers of the blog and welcome back to all our devoted readers. In this new year as you get your life together or step out in search of adventure, check out the archives for cool reads. We haven’t been posting all too often, but there are three productivity and how-to blogs planned so far (one posts later today) and a couple tech product reviews in the works. In addition, we’ll be doing a follow-up blog on two previous posts about what’s in your bag.

Ellie’s Birthday Celebration!

Tomorrow, July 19, is Ellie’s birthday! In her honor, there will be a post each day this week, starting today (July 18). The topics will vary (including a new Android post!) but hopefully all will be something that is of use to you and yours. We ask that you recognize Ellie in your own way this week. If able, give your time and energy to a women’s shelter, a homeless shelter, a soup kitchen, blood or plasma donation center, or the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association or any other organization/group that needs help.

Hello Ultimate Geek Girl readers!

Hi ya’ll!! *Waves* If you aren’t familiar with me, I am HarriMac, sister of blog owner and primary author Ellie. You may have noticed there haven’t been any updates to the blog for a while. Well, there’s a reason, albeit a sad one -

A couple months ago, Ellie suddenly and unexpectedly passed away (Sept 12). Her death was surprising to us and to those of you in the blogosphere and for a while the other siblings and I haven’t been sure what to do with this blog. We know there are many of you that are regular readers and sharers of the blog and because she loved sharing so much with you, we feel that the blog shouldn’t just stop. So there will be new posts keeping with the theme and feel of the blog. I will continue writing tech and how to posts and will soon be joined by at least two of my other siblings that are Android fans. We can’t fill her shoes, but we can try to honor her in this small way. If you’d like to honor her in a bigger way, please visit the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association page that we’ve set up and contribute financially there, or volunteer your time, talent, or treasure in your own community to causes that were significant to her including homeless shelters, food pantries, rape crisis centers, domestic abuse shelters, and car-free advocacy. Ellie was also an advocate for organ donation and even after she passed was able to give at least six other people the gift of life and sight. If you’d like to learn more about organ donation, please visit http://organdonor.gov and make sure your family knows your wishes. It may be a small gift to you, but a giant gift to others.

Will It Go Around in Circles?

I’ve been blogging for many, many years! And this particular URL has seen its fair share of changes – from poetry and short stories, to blogging about any and every thing, to blogging almost exclusively about technology to today.

The thing that has stayed constant is my time and dedication to my blog, as if it is a growing child. I’ve tried various methods of monetization, had guest bloggers, weekly features and more – in order to improve my little space in the blogosphere.

And with that dedication comes a time when change must occur. The only thing constant in this world is change, and we’ve got to go with the flow, rather than going around in circles.
