CustomizeGoogle is one of my most favorite Firefox add-ons. I love its breadth of features and ability to tweak Google to fit my needs. BUT, I have noticed that my favorite features of CustomizeGoogle no longer work. It is as if the Google Gods have intentionally broken the magic that made CustomizeGoogle work.
In a nutshell:
CustomizeGoogle is a Firefox extension that enhances Google search results by adding extra information (like links to Yahoo, Ask.com, MSN etc) and removing unwanted information (like ads and spam).

Hey everybody! I know “Soulville” has been absent lately (school rocks!), but I wanted to share some public health info about swine flu with you. A lot of people are really freaking out, but at the moment we don’t know if it’s something to freak out about and freaking out won’t help anything anyway.

Every few weeks, someone at my university emails students and asks them to answer a survey about some campus services and programs. Since I use the library all the time, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to fill out the online survey. At the end, it asked for my email address if I wanted to enter to win a MacBook. I filled it out, and forgot all about it until yesterday, when someone emailed me and said, “You won a MacBook.”

I will be in Washington DC for National Train Day on May 9. It would be cool to meet any of my readers at the events! Leave a comment, and let’s plan to meet!

Twitter seems to be taking the world by storm – whether if it is because Bo the First Dog is using it or a Brooklyn teenager is making an internet worm that exploits Twitter’s weaknesses. My favorite feature about Twitter really doesn’t have to do with Twitter.com, but instead the many, many programs that you can use Twitter with – from ways to send links to your blog posts to your Twitter account, post to your Twitter account, or use a totally different interface with fresh and cool features to use your account.
At least 3 times a week, my Feedburner count goes all wonky. Usually, that means my chicklet displays an odd number of followers, typically far less than I actually have – but sometimes, far more than I really have.
I know, I know, how many people read your blog is not as important as how you feel about and enjoy blogging, BUT it is unnerving to see my count drop to 88 readers from a high of 221, especially when it is on the tail end of me announcing that I’m going to incorporate more ideas and information into my blog!

Some of you guys who know me in “real” life know that I have had a lifelong battle with my weight. I heard about a neat program called Muffintopless, which is 20 women trying to loose 20 pounds. The catch is that we use Twitter to talk about our ups and downs and support each other.

My goal is definitely more than 20 pounds, but 20 pounds is the beginning. I’m already making smarter choices AND I planning on running a 5k by my 29th birthday!

I watched House on Monday night, after a stupendous day (which I will blog about later). Kumar, the Indian doctor on the show, committed suicide, so the actor playing him would be free to go and work for the O-man (President Obama).

Religion is taboo in some circles, but not here at ultimate geek girl! Even girl geeks have to set aside some time to give thanks for their blessings and pray for good things to happen in the world!

As some of you know from following me on Twitter, I have been searching high and low and in between for a new job and a new apartment, as graduation from Bloustein comes near.
