MaxBlogPress Stripe Ad is a great, non obtrusive addition to most WordPress installations!
Use it to display a welcome message, reminder to visitors, an affiliate link, an “extra special” link to a favorite or popular post, and more – the sky is the limit, as long as the text and html will fit in the stripe!
As you can see from the screenshots, setting it up is a little cumbersome – a lot different than the average plugin – but it seems to be worth it if you want a low-key, customizable message to appear at the TOP of your screen when your visitors come to your WordPress powered site.
Everyone wants internet fame, myself included. Perhaps one of the most popular ways to get internet fame today is to hit the front page on Digg, get a billion and twenty five Stumbles (thumbs up) on StumbleUpon.
There are many ways to get internet popularity – but I’ll focus on the two that I think conflict and complement each other the most. Digging and Stumbling upon request from the author (or a friend), or only Digging and Stumbling articles that you genuinely enjoy.

Does having a large number of unread messages in your Gmail inbox drive you nuts?
A quick, surefire solution is to mark all items as read; sounds easy, but what about emails in other folders (labels), too?
First, perform a quick search for all unread messages (is:unread); then press “Select: All”.

Now, press “Select all conversations that match this search”.

And finally, press “Mark all as read” in the dropdown menu “More Actions”.

Now, all of your unread items are now marked “read”!
This special feature, Geek Girl, appears every Monday.
This is the final installment of the “Better Blogger” series. I hope you enjoyed this 101 step journey with me. Scroll to the bottom of this post for links to all of the previous articles in this series. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Have you upgraded to Firefox 3 yet?
Yes? Great!
No? Whatcha waiting for?

I admit, I tried a few of the betas and a release candidate of Firefox 3, and I was left feeling like, “This is it?” I wasn’t anxious or even looking forward to the download, but when the final release candidate was released, I felt like maybe, just maybe, I could download it on Tuesday, June 17, and feel okay with whatever came my way.
