As you enjoy your Thanksgiving turkeys on Thursday, you can take a few minutes to prod your favorite geek to tell you about some of their wish list items for Christmas! Afterall, Black Friday is on THIS Friday!

One great idea that geeks of all ages seem to love is the LCD TV. The technology is a lot more advanced than it was in years past, and the prices have dropped tremendously! Look for an LCD that will fit the space you want to put it in – a LCD that is too large will be uncomfortable to watch!

Online Banking helps save time and the environment

I’m a huge fan of doing mundane banking tasks online, such as balancing my checkbook or even paying bills from my checking accounts. Online banking has made it increasingly easy to save paper (no more writing checks!) and time (no more going to the bank and waiting in line!), which are two major reasons to LOVE opening an account with online banking features.

Some other great features that I absolutely adore are the national scope of most banks. No matter where you go, just about, there’s a Bank of America, Washington Mutual or Wachovia within driving distance of you!

Geek GirlI love disposable email addresses. They give me a smile and warm my heart because I know that some spammer is NOT going to fill my personal inbox with junk about Viagra or offers to buy stuff I don’t need or want!

If you are looking for a “fake” or disposable email address, check out FakedEmail.com.

You get an automatically generated disposable email address every time that you visit the FakedEmail.com page. Unlike some other services, whenever you get an email it is updated on the FakedEmail.com website, without any user interaction! No login necessary!

Gossimer.com is another source for domain registration and website hosting! We all want to save money on our hosting packages, as well as find a reliable company that will provide great service 365 days a year.

Few companies promise 100% uptime, but Gossimer does!

The design of the site is clean and professional. Information about pricing and plans is easy to find. This makes it easier for me to compare Gossimer’s services to those of other companies – great for comparison shopping!

My current host promises 99.99% uptime and I have a great package for $7.95/month.

These are steps 19-31 in the 101 Steps to Becoming a Better Blogger. I condensed these because they are all about plugins!

Install these plugins to optimize your blog:

19. Akismet – This plugin helps eliminate comment spam.

I already use Akismet, because it is one of the best ways to eliminate comment spam! I rarely get any comment spam because of Akismet’s strong filters!

20. Optimal Title – This plugin allows you to optimize the title of your blog post in order to improve your search engine rankings.

Forget creating links – use Link A Dink!

Many bloggers will agree that blogging is time consuming. And when you are on the go and just want to make a quick post, having to take the time to link to frequently used terms can seriously slow you down!

Link A Dink, a WordPress plugin by Dax, takes a little of the load off of ‘blog and run’ bloggers, by storing a set of words that should be replaced in a post with links!

Want to replace “Work From Home” with a link to your favorite blog post or website about working from home? Use Link A Dink!

How I Find Blogging Ideas

I’ve always been an observer of people and my surroundings. Often, this is where I get the bulk of my blogging ideas. Just sitting at a banquet and listening to the conversations around me can give me tons of ideas to use for blogging, or even spark a chain reaction of brainstorming that results in me writing a fantastic post or three!

Sometimes, I suffer from major writers’ block, and this is when I “take it to the street” to see what other bloggers are blogging about. If their ideas are inspired, but not fleshed out, I may expand on their post, or even write from a differing perspective.
